INJECTABLE PRP

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a regenerative injectable treatment made from a patient’s own blood. PRP uses a concentrated portion of the patient’s platelets and plasma to support the skin’s natural repair and regeneration processes.

Improvements in skin texture, firmness, and overall appearance may become more noticeable over the following weeks to months, and a series of treatments is often used.

Understand the Treatment

How PRP Works

PRP is prepared by drawing a small amount of the patient’s blood and processing it to separate a platelet-rich component that is 5-10 times more concentrated in platelets than in normal blood. Platelets themselves contain growth factors and other signalling molecules that are involved in wound healing and tissue repair processes.

When PRP is injected or applied to the appropriately treated area, these signaling molecules may support cellular activity, collagen production, and tissue remodeling. The goal is not to create immediate volume, but to encourage the skin’s own regenerative processes over time.

Because PRP prompts a biological response, results may be seen weeks or months after the procedure and vary between individuals.

Commonly addresses:

  • Wrinkles and fine lines
  • Acne scars
  • Enlarged pores
  • Dull-looking skin and under-eye circles
  • Overall skin rejuvenation

The Treatment Timeline

  • Immediate | 24-72 Hours

Injection sites may be tender, red, swollen or bruised following treatment. These effects are generally temporary and typically settle within several days. If PRP is combined with microneedling, the skin may also appear flushed or feel sensitive as the superficial treatment-related inflammation resolves.

  • Early Repair | Days 3-14

The initial redness and swelling continue to settle while the skin’s repair processes are underway. There may be little visible change during this stage, and it is normal for the treatment to appear subtle at first. PRP does not provide the immediate volumizing effect associated with dermal fillers.

  • Regeneration & Results | Weeks to Months

As the skin continues to remodel, improvements in texture, firmness, and overall appearance may gradually become more noticeable. Results can develop over several weeks to months, and a series of treatments may be recommended depending on the treatment goal.

What is PRP treatment and how does it work?

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a regenerative treatment made from a concentrated portion of the patient’s own blood. PRP contains platelets and signaling molecules involved in tissue repair and wound healing. When injected or applied to the treatment area, PRP may support cellular activity, collagen production, and gradual skin remodeling.

What skin concerns can PRP help improve?

PRP may help improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, enlarged-looking pores, dullness, under-eye concerns, and overall skin texture and firmness. It is often used for skin rejuvenation and may be performed alone or combined with treatments such as microneedling.

How long does it take to see results from PRP?

PRP results develop gradually rather than immediately. Initial redness, swelling, or tenderness usually settles over the first several days, while improvements in skin texture, firmness, and overall appearance may become more noticeable over the following weeks to months. A series of treatments may be recommended depending on the treatment goal.

What skincare should I use after PRP treatment?

Immediately after PRP, skincare should focus on hydration, comfort, and barrier recovery. CNANO novoLUX™ nano · repair can be used during the first two days, when appropriate, to support the skin during the initial recovery phase. As the skin recovers, nano · peptide · glow can be resumed to support hydration, renewal, firmness, and a smoother, more radiant-looking complexion.

How should I prepare my skin before a PRP treatment?

A consistent skincare routine can help prepare the skin before PRP. CNANO recommends beginning novoLUX™ nano · peptide · glow approximately two weeks before treatment and using it twice daily to support hydration, firmness, elasticity, and skin renewal ahead of the procedure.
